Kindergarten
Miss Christine

September's Focus-This month is “All About Me” as we get to know our new kindergarten classroom and each other.  We will spend one week focusing on our NAME… it’s what makes us US, and it’s the first word we learn how to read.  We also will focus on a science week on weather.

Language Communication- We will be reading a different book each day that goes with our weekly theme.  We also will focus on the short and long A sound and the B sound.

Cognitive Development – Math will have us starting with our shapes unit.  Be sure to look for different shapes at home. Towards the end of the month we will learn about Johnny Appleseed.

Physical Development –Manipulating play dough throughout the month will help strengthen our hands… these fine motor skills will come into play as we write names, journals, and numbers.

Social Development- Taking turns, cooperation, and team work.
